Grass-fed cow's milk is packed full of Omega-3 fatty acids and vitamins. Our yogurt is full fat so all that good stuff doesn't become diluted. This is also where we mix in our unique flavors.

Yogurt is an excellent source of calcium and protein. Each cup of Dreaming Cow has at least 20% of you daily recommended dose of calcium. Our yogurt contains two very important proteins - whey (quickly digested into amino acids) and casein (digested slower, providing a delayed source of amino acids). Greek yogurt actually strains out all of its whey proteins to create the thick texture that it is defined by.
Our yogurt is inoculated with billions of good bacteria called probiotics. These probiotics (like acidipholus) contribute to an improved immune system, improved digestion and can actually treat certain diseases such as Chrone's Disease.
Dreaming Cow is a source of Omega-3 Fatty Acids. This is a direct result of the grass-fed diet our cows are provided. 99% of the dairy products on the market are derived from a corn based diet, and they do not have any Omega-3 fatty acids.
Located in Southern Georgia, we get a year-round growing season that results in the highest quality pasture possible. In the summer months our cows graze on perennial sub-tropical and native grass varieties that grow all the way into October. When the weather cools off and most farms are barren, our cows are still munching away on a luscious rye-grass, clover blend. Think of it as our equivalent to a winter vacation in the tropics...only the fruity umbrella drinks are lush green grass.
Grass-fed cows live longer, happier lives. Modern day dairy cows are fed high carb diets with industrial by-products to boost their milk production. Since cows don't have the metabolism to process a grain-based diet in a healthy manner, their life spans are shortened significantly.

Every decision we make in regard to our cows' health takes that into consideration. We even refrain from organic certification in order to use the best practices possible to take care of our girls. At times our practices are organic, other times they're not, but whatever they may be, we can guarantee they're making our cows happier and healthier.
Our cow babies are never raised in calf hutches or barns! They're given the freedom to experience life on the pasture from birth. These practices contribute to a much lower calf mortality rate than our conventional counterparts along with a scientifically proven increase in cuteness. Dreaming Cows reside in Jumping Gully Dairy, one of three family owned, grass based, New Zealand- style rotational grazing dairies. Located in Southern Georgia, we have an ideal climate that allows our cows to graze year round on lush green pastures. As a result, we get higher quality milk and a higher quality yogurt. The basis of our animal health and food quality philosophies begins with the soil. We maintain a high level of organic matter in our soils, helping it to absorb nutrients and create an ideal landscape for beneficial micro-organisms. Soil rich in life and nutrients passes along those same nutrients to the plants and animals that coexist alongside it. Healthy cows = healthy yogurt = healthy humans.
It is important for us to note that our farm is not certified organic. We practice a hybrid of ecological and biological farming methods in the interest of our cows. Consumers have a right to know where their food comes from and how it was grown and processed. Dreaming Cow is completely transparent in order to fulfill this right.
After years of experience and travel around the globe, Kyle and Janelle Wehner settled down in Southern Georgia with a mission to make the perfect yogurt. The result? Dreaming Cow.
Kyle comes from a family of dairy farmers. Not just any dairy farmers. His family is full of innovators and envelope pushers, who expect nothing but the best from their farms. Kyle's parents, Desiree and Al, were industry pariahs for challenging the status-quo of how cows should be raised. Their new style of farming offered the cows they raised a significantly healthier, happier lifestyle that produced a higher quality milk. Together they built several family owned grass-fed dairies including Dreaming Cow.
In 2004, Kyle left the US to study agriculture in New Zealand, a nation whose entire agricultural system is based on year-round grazing. It was there in the North Island that he met his future wife, Janelle.
Kyle followed Janelle to the South Island where she developed yogurts for various companies across Australia and New Zealand. It was here that Janelle and Kyle first encountered a wonderfully rich, cream-top yogurt from a small farmstead company. Minimalist to its core, the yogurt they fell in love with relied on superior milk quality and simplicity. Immediately, they became determined to bring the same clean, grass-fed concept back to the states. American yogurt was in need of a better product, and they were determined to put one on the shelf. So in 2008 the two married and set out to travel the world in search of innovative flavor concepts to be incorporated into their vision of Dreaming Cow. Dark Cherry Chai, anyone?
In 2009 they returned to Southern Georgia and built their pilot factory right on the farm. Being farmstead gave them the freshest milk possible, so fresh that the yogurt was made and on the shelf within 48 hours of milking.
After two years of perfecting the yogurts and selling at farmers markets in Georgia, Dreaming Cow began offering distribution in 30 states. It didn't take long before people across the country began to rally behind Dreaming Cow's vision of happier, healthier cows and superior yogurt. Massive growth soon followed and in 2013, Dreaming Cow opened a larger factory, also on the farm, to supply the nation.
